Alrae Polyandrium
But isn't it more sick to make things Dead than to make them Undead?[/color]
Age: 563
Species: Elf
Birthday: July 30th
Affinity: Death
Role: Necromancer
Alignment: Chaotic Evil.
Abilities: In the Death tier, up to Level 7. (Spirit Friend, Projection, Death Sense, Touch of Decay, Spirit Link, Astral Projection, Possession, and Reanimation.)
She's a fan of the Reanimation, in particular.
She's never without her family's thick Grimoire, detailing everything from raising the dead to gardening. She also keeps a silver flute handy for spellwork.
Familiar: Arglbrywyn'groth'graharshtitatk, the great spirit of a long dead elf which takes the form of a Skunk. It is bound by a silver bridle. When removed, it can only be controlled through a combination of it's full name and magic channelled through the flute's music.
Appearance: Alrae is of average height, with a thin frame. She's hardly got breasts at all really, which adds a hint of androgyny to an otherwise feminine appearance. Some side effects of her unusual birth include straight black hair and black eyes, yet her skin keeps a healthy color almost unheard of among those who live in caves and make frequent trips into the afterlife.
History: Alrae was literally born in Death, to a mother who wouldn't listen to the reasoning of every healer who tried to tell her she would never be pregnant.
For the sake of her mother, of course, they went on and on about how it would be impossible for the woman to carry a child to full term. Rather than listen to reason, Alrae's mother dove headfirst into the Necromancy of her ancestors she had originally shunned, insisting on having a child.
She found a way to literally create life using her own blood and the blood of her husband, and carried her daughter full term in Death, a long and lonely pregnancy.
Needless to say, this messed their daughter up a little inside. Her obsession with the Dead can easily be traced back to her unnatural conception and birthplace. Though her parents swore they would keep her out of dark magic, she snooped and self-taught her way to mastry in the arts of raising dead and binding souls. Deep within her private cavern, she was careful to keep her practice out of the eyes of the High Council, especially her parents, who had officially shunned the magic used to create her upon being invited to join the High Council. Over the course of hundreds of years she immersed herself in the murkiest corners of Necromancy, eventually collecting Humans (Whom she deemed a lower form of life, and therefore expendable) for bizarre experiments in reanimation. This all came together in a nasty incident involving the unfortunate Muse who stumbled upon her cave by accident. Several hours into a spell and only half aware of her surroundings, Alrae decided to attempt a reanimation on a Fae rather than a Mortal.
To make a long story short: The High Council found out.
Alrae was swiftly disowned by her family, and is no longer recognized as a legitimate Fae. She was made an example of, essentially excomminicated. All of her work was destroyed, leaving her at square one, managing to hide only the Grimoire from those who would have seen it burn.
Bastardized and thrust from society, she intends to bring about revenge.
Twenty years have passed, and Alrae's cave teems with the trapped spirits of mortals foolish enough to follow her into the forest.
Soon, very soon, she promises herself, they will tear down the very walls protecting the High Council. Sweet, sweet revenge.
Personality: Rather... Passionate about the dead. To skip around the point with wordplay, she puts the Romance back in Necromancer. More bluntly- She feels literal love for the Dead, and likes to spend time flirting with ghosts and drinking tea with reanimated corpses.
Otherwise intelligent and stable, her antisocial obsession with revenge has stunted her social skills and made her a bit quick to kill something and ask questions later, once it's spirit is safely stored in a bottle or something.
